The Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Swanswell Medical Centre is an award-winning patient volunteer group. Achievements have included: contributing to the design of the current appointment system; involvement with improvements made to the waiting room, including the introduction of the touch screen check-in system; assisting with the re-design of the practice leaflet; improving the practice website; improving access for patients who work; improving access to support services for carers; community outreach and organising patient education meetings. The aim of the PPG is to promote and develop an effective, constructive and inclusive partnership between patients and the practice, that improves the quality of services and the setting in which care is provided. Swanswell Medical Centre is dedicated to giving the best possible service to their patients and welcomes constructive comments to make further improvements.
The Group would be interested to receive any suggestions from patients which could benefit patient care, or tell us about your experience with the practice. The PPG is unable to deal with individual complaints - these should be made as described under the relevant section on this website.
We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.
To help us with this, we are setting up a virtual patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.
We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
